What is the difference between the Unlimited and Truly Unlimited plans in Japan?

The difference between the Unlimited and Truly Unlimited plans is whether a speed limit applies.

Unlimited plan

Data allowance

The Unlimited plan does not have a fixed data allowance.

Speed limit

If you use more than 3 GB in one day, your maximum connection speed will be reduced to 1 Mbps.

What you can do at 1 Mbps

  1. LINE messages and text-based emails should still work without major issues
  2. Image-heavy websites and social media may load slowly
  3. Watching high-quality videos or connecting several devices at the same time may be difficult

Truly Unlimited plan

Data allowance and speed

The Truly Unlimited plan allows you to use data without the daily 3 GB speed limit.

Exceptional restrictions

If an unusually large amount of data is used, the local mobile network operator may temporarily restrict the connection.

Important information

Because these restrictions are applied by the local mobile network operator rather than WiFiBOX, our Customer Support Center cannot check or remove them.
Notes
Restrictions are unlikely during normal use.
